Very tentative dates for next year:  October 7 - 15, or whatever part of that works for people.

I want it to be a bit later than the 2019 meetup, as it was frightfully hot at times.  However, I *think* the Fall Break for a lot of Utah schools will be October 15 - 19, so I would like to avoid that.  And any later than that, and we run the risk of being snowed on.

For next year, I might try to get a couple campsites in Arches for two of the nights.  They have to be reserved online (6 months ahead I think).  I might just go for it, and hope that a few people will join me for some camping in Arches.

If I am around or not too far in October 2020, you can count me in.

I think about it every year but so far the dates have not lined up for me. Maybe 2020?

I couldn't make it this year but I am keeping it in my view for 2020, depending on other plans.

I'll wistfully keep an eye on this. For anyone who can make it, I'm sure it will be great based on past experience.

Posting to follow and to share a few photos from the 2019 meetup. Just in case you need some extra motivation to earn those CC points/miles and get yourselves to Moab, you can enjoy views like this:

@LifeHappens, Where is the 2nd photo taken?
I'm assuming that is the Colorado River?

It was the Portal Trail.  We started at the trailhead on Potash Road.

Interested, as per previous conversation. Only catch is won’t have a tent coming from Oz.

I have a one person tent you can use.  The campground also has cabins with bunk beds.  They are pretty basic—bunk beds and a screened porch.  Could be a nice option, though.  If I am coming to Moab from my house, I can bring bedding, extra sleeping bags, pillows, etc.

As I mentioned for this past year, I have a 9x9' dome tent as well as a two person backpacking tent.  I also have a couple of cheap kids type tents that could hold gear for I'm someone sleeping in their car.  Since I now remember how to use my cook stoves and what all the parts are for I will have those as well.  Who knows what else I will find as I dig out more of my gear.

I'm not a camper. My DH and I stayed at a motel within walking distance of the campground. There are many to choose from if camping isn't your thing.

Thankyou - now I remember something about cabins from researching last year. A cabin will be just fine, and I can bring sleeping bag etc, the same as I will for CMTO if I get to go again (fingers and toes crossed).

Some pics from this past weekend's Arches visit--to perhaps draw some more interest in next year's Moab meetup...

Actually, the first three pictures were taken while I was biking the Monitor and Merrimac Trail across the highway from Arches.  The rest of the pics were taken in Arches NP.

Did I say I was coming?!
The blue sky and red rock remind me of  outback Australia very much.

posted in the wrong thread year initially but now found the correct one.

I follow these threads and I would love to come but can't because of school aged kids.

Also wanted to let you know that Leave No Trace chose Moab (Arches, specifically) as one of their 2020 Hot Spots and will likely have a variety of programs and cleanup/restoration efforts  going on then.  Posting just in case you all want to join in the work of this cool organization.
