We're downtown waiting on 151 bus, so we'll probably be 30 late.

Great meeting everyone - old and new friends. Sorry I had to leave early. When did the meet end?

Great to meet everyone - so nice that you came out on an almost chilly october day to just chat.
Inaya, Chesebert, frugalShrew, mschaus - I am missing names - who's missing from this list?

MChaus and your +1 (anonymous J---who is a seriously bad ass mustachian despite his car habit), S..... (Need to get your real MMM handle)....Thank you all for coming out and welcoming the MMM Come As You Are Ladies weekend group.  We had so much fun hanging out that we didn't even leave until closer to 3.

I think we should have a Chicago MMM meetup around travel hacking the next time, as there were some serious travel hackers.

Grawr, I was out of town for this meet-up. I'm down for the travel hacking topic...how much momentum does this group have - meet up once per month or farther apart?

With Winter approaching, I vote for an indoor location. I'm not badass enough to be outside in the snow.  We were probably able to take advantage of the last nice day of the year last Saturday.

I can help procure a "party room" in my building for the next meet - location not far from the last meet.

Great meeting you, too, G-dog!

That sounds pretty awesome - I assume as a resident you can reserve it for free?

It was great meeting everyone! Even the cat had a good time, once she decided she more-or-less approved of the sand. Hope to see you all next time!

Generally yes. Cleaning fee is imposed for those groups that fail to cleanup after themselves ;)

Nooo! I put it on my calendar and everything, and I still missed it! Hope y'all had a good time visiting Chicago.

Next time, I guess I've got to tattoo it..

Yeah was so great to see everyone! Amazing timing with the retreat and the ability to meet people from across the country! My friend had a good time too, even if he was a little shy to try a game of monkey jenga.

I'll keep trying to brainstorm indoor locations for winter! A condo party room is an awesome idea, or maybe the Chicago Cultural Center or Lincoln Park Zoo Conservatory.

Monkey Jenna is not a game! It is a way of life.

Haha, I like it. Maybe by the time I make it back to Chicago, Mike will have a friend ready for The MonkeyJenga Life.

Great meeting everyone!

Sorry I wasn't able to make it to the meetup--I really want to meet Tau! I'm very involved in the animal rescue community in Chicago so hopefully we'll be able to connect sometime!

Hi y'all! I'm coming back to town next week (Sunday through Thursday). Who's up for another hang? I've got a couple people interested in the free concert in Millennium Park on Monday night, so that is one option. I'm open Sunday/Monday most of the day, and Tuesday/Wednesday night if someone has another suggestion or wants to meet one on one.

New to the forums and FIRE ideology, and I'd love to talk to some IRL humans about it! Anyone interested in planning a 2017 meet up?

I'm new to Chicagoland and would love to hear how others find ways to save. I'm in Elmhurst, so can use public transit and the bike to get to most places pretty easily...

I am definitely interested in a meetup.  I am in the northwest suburbs.

Interested and close to Northwest suburbs. My preference would be a weekend meetup, although it seems the trend is to do these right after work downtown.

I'd be interested in meeting as well.  Is anyone else here from northwest Indiana?

I travel for work about 11 months out of the year at least, and will be in Chicago for the next two months and would be interested in a meet up!

There's another meetup Chicago thread that got started....

Haymarket Pub & Brewery
Monday, April 30, 2018
5:30PM-? (I'm putting 5:30 since that's when I can get there....anyone coming from the North can come later)
737 W Randolph Street
Chicago, IL

I posted a message on the meetup group page - hopefully the organizer will add it as a combined event. There are 210 people on that meetup group.

Hope to see lots of MMMers there.
