Central Oregon Mustachians?
« on: May 21, 2015, 04:27:55 AM »
Our family is moving to Bend, Oregon and while its off the beaten path, it seems to have some upper class pressures.  We would love to find folks for bike rides, hiking, paddle boarding, beers and financial freedom discussions...lets get together!

My wife and I plan to retire there, but it's not time for that yet. We plan to find a house or condo there, buy it and pay it off by the time we retire, then live out our days in Bend.

I agree with you, some upper class pressures to be sure! The only friends we have in Bend right now are multi-millionaires through salary, not MMM policies, though they do not use 100s to light their fires with, either. My wife is going to be house sitting for them for a month and a half while they go to Europe and run ultra marathons. Anything to make money for us right now!

Have you had any luck with MMM fellowship in Bend so far?

My wife and I and our children (3 & 7) just moved to Bend.  So far so good, but the alternative we were considering was Boulder, Colorado, which is way more expensive.  Bend is small enough that I can ride my bike to work downtown, but big enough to be a pleasant enough place with lots going on.

I'm always up for a beer with whoever stops by Bend to talk about whatever!

I live in Bend!  My husband and I moved here from Texas 3.5 years ago and we have a 4 year old daughter and an almost 2 year old son.  We never plan to leave and will hopefully be retired in no more than 10 years.

I'm not in Oregon yet but thinking about moving there...it made it to my top 4 places. I plan on taking a 14 State tour looking for a new place to live. I should be in the area around the end of Feb/early Mar, it would be cool to meet up with some of you to pick your brains on the area. If you have any pros/cons about the area feel free to PM me. Thanks!

What parts of Oregon? There's a Portland meetup as well, that essentially is the landing place for all the Willamette Valley mustachians (Eugene, Corvallis, Salem, etc). Valley vs Central vs Coast vs Eastern are all verrrrrrrrry different places =)
