Also in Columbia. Seems we're a rare breed around here.

It seems we are! Happy to hear there is at least one other fellow mustachian in the area though!

And another.  Shall we plan to meet up?  Maybe have some beers and grill at a park or.....?  I have a friend that would join us as well, and possibly my wife.

And then there were four! That's more than I was expecting around here, honestly!

Awesome!  I think the alcohol issue may be park by park but I'd also bet that if you kept it low key and nothing got out of control that we'd be fine.  We can check on that once we decide on a possible location.  Is the Irmo area a good central point for everyone or would downtown Columbia, maybe Riverfront park, or something similar be better?

Hey!  Just registered for the forum and live in Columbia, SC.  Are you all still meeting up?  Somewhat new to the MM stuff, but I'd like to get to know some others in the area!

I would like to have a meet up but didn't hear back from anyone else about a location.  Does Saturday, April 16th work for everyone?  Ideas on locations?

I'm about an hour and a half away from Columbia, but I'm trying to network my way into a job there. I'd be willing to meet up. I've got a gig on April 16, but that Sunday is open.

I'll have a newborn at that time, so I probably won't be able to make it to anything in the month of April.  Hoping meetups will continue though, and that I can make one of the future ones!

I'm in Augusta! I just signed up for the forum and have been reading the blog for the past few weeks. This stuff makes so much sense! For the past year and a half or so I have been into the idea of financial independence, early retirement, frugality, etc especially since reading Your Money or Your Life.

Why do so many people not have their location in their forum tag!?    Is there a big security risk I'm missing?

Reviving this thread to see if there are any newcomers to the area and to see if anyone wants to get a meet up set up for our area!

Yea, I'm not sure, maybe they just haven't added that to their profile.  Are their many mustachians in Gville?  I'd think so based on the bike-ability and amount of computer engineers there seem to be in that area.

PTF - wife's family is in Florence, so if a meetup happens when we're visiting, might be able to make it.

I've often wondered how many Mustachians are in this area.  It always seems like I hear of people living out more in the central US/mid-west than in the south who are interested in FIRE.
