Looks like quite the crowd of Chicago people!
Like I said, I can host. I've got one sewing machine, but I can't promise I know how to use it, and it's prone to jamming up, so if someone else wants to bring one, they are welcome. I've got some hand sewing supplies and thread as well, but if you don't want to share, feel free to bring your own of that too.
I'm thinking Saturday, November 10th, in the afternoon. Does this work with people? I live near the intersection of Kimball Ave and Palmer St. There's free street parking, places to lock up bikes, and I'm about .7 miles away from the California blue line stop. I'll search the forums for the word "Chicago" and message people who seem like they might live here, alerting them to this post.
I also like the idea of a challenge. We can have potluck style snacks... but your dish must cost under $2. Dun dun dunnn. As someone who is too guilty of the, "shit, I forgot I need to bring food for an event... guess I'll spent $8 on an overpriced veggie tray..." I would love to see what creative things people can think up! It wouldn't be required for entry, but it would be nifty if people did it :)
