I'm always up for a get together if I'm not off traveling.  I'm heading up to NV this next week, and up to Canada Aug 17-24.  Other than that Plan It And They Will Come.  I can't offer my community room anymore as I moved.  Of course, once we have the MMM Van Down By The River Commune set up, we can all meet there.  :)

Thank you to those folks who showed up last night.  I had fun and hope you all did as well.  Next time I'll make sure to have cups available.  Still getting to know this place.  I'll have another before the end of the year for sure.

For the other folks in the Phoenix area, please find some place and call a get together.  I proved last night that you don't even have to be too terribly organized.  Just find a spot and announce a date.

Hello,

My wife and I are both 25 yr olds living in Phoenix for about 5 years. We would like to join one of your next meetups and learn more about the path to early retirement. I saw there was a meetup recently, but we  missed it. If possible we would like to host one and was wondering if anyone is interested!

I'm busy through the middle of November, but after that I would attend a get together.  Just let me know when and where.

Likewise, maybe Thanksgiving week if others have some holiday time off of work?

and I can attest that shadowmoss is a great resource!

We'll be back in Phoenix for the weekend of 17-19th.
Would love to get together.
We'll probably be out at Lost Dutchman Park, but I think there's a day use fee if you want to join us there,
so carpooling would be an option....
I'll check in, when that date gets closer!

We are definitely up for it.
We came down with colds, which is why I have not posted earlier, but we are in town and on the road to recovery.
Tomorrow or Tuesday would work for us.
I think Shadowmoss is leaving town on Wednesday for the long weekend.
If we can wing something we'd be up for it.
We ended up at a city campground though with no public space to meet, so we won't be able to host.
Anyone have any ideas for a good place to get together. We are ok to drive within reason.

Awesome, thanks for getting the info out geodude, we'll be there!
I'll also make a seperate post for folks, who may not be following the thread.

Edit: Here it is:

I also messaged everyone who had expressed interest further up in the thread, just in case
Hoping for a good turnout!

If I remember I'll bring something to make it easier for folks to find us. Some mustache pic or something, but I bet it'll be pretty easy
to figure out which one is our group!

Hey everyone,

It turns out there's an ironman going on in the downtown tempe area, so parking will be a nightmare, and everywhere will be full.

Due to my impeccable (/sarcasm) timing, we've decided to relocate the meet to Paradise Bakery (Panera) at Tempe Marketplace:

Tempe Marketplace, 2000 E Rio Salado Pkwy #1143, Tempe, AZ 85281

Feel free to message me for more details/phone numbers.

I still would like to make one of these someday.  Previous Mesa address was just too far for me.

Tempe is somewhat better.
Previous commitments for Saturday though.

I appreciate the efforts of those trying to get this going.

Looking forward to the next meetup!

I live near the Biltmore right now. Ridiculously expensive lease is up in May, need to find Mustachian housing after that in Madison or Paradise Valley school districts.... no easy task. I would like to find a little two bedroom as much under $1000/mo as possible.  Sigh.

Ridiculously expensive because you want to stay in Paradise Valley? :P  I wouldn't be surprised if that's the most expensive place in Arizona.

My son is in a program for kids that are both highly gifted and have autism. Only two public schools offer it-- Madison SD and Paradise Valley USD (which includes a huge chunk of Phoenix as well as PV itself). I picked Madison because it is less expensive than PVUSD but... still ridiculous.   I would like to live in an RV or a tiny house or guest house in someone's backyard, and me stocking away a ton more money but I haven't located anything like that in either of these two districts. And neither program will take someone who's out of district.

The PV school district includes a lot of areas outside PV, including some moderate income areas.  Madison is a mix, but the schools are well regarded.  Finding under $1,000 rent anywhere is a challenge now in any area close in.

Absent someone else having a better suggestion I'll probably propose one in January at the mexican place we didn't get to go to last time in downtown Tempe.

Hi, New to this Web site, but totally on board, "living the life". It would be great to meet with like-minded people this month at Macayos in Tempe or wherever!
I am near Northern and the 17.

I'll go ahead and propose it:

Let's meet next Sunday (January 15) 2pm at the little hole-in-the-wall mexican place in downtown tempe. (not macayos, it's on Mill.)

423 S Mill Ave, Tempe AZ 85281

This is the google map view of the outside of the place:

Well, I've somehow managed to, yet again, pick a weekend where there's a marathon happening in tempe.

After some deliberation we've decided to persevere with the original planned time. I've called and asked them to hold a table for us.

Just be aware that there may be some extra traffic as you plan your respective voyages across town.

(If you have an android phone, Google maps shows you the route of the marathon: it's how I found out about it).

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Another heads up that the get together in Tempe is this Saturday at 2:00 pm.  See posts above for last month's meeting at the same Mexican Restaurant, just change the date to 2/19.  It will be interesting to see what sports activity will be happening in the area this month.

Wife and I will plan for it!

Our planning has not been that good. We will be most likely journeying back from Flagstaff (MIL idea for a trip) during this time.

Shot ourselves in the foot but will look forward to another one.
