Where to invest 401k
« on: January 08, 2017, 05:38:51 PM »
At work, I've been just investing in their target fund for 2050, but I'm thinking it probably makes more sense to move it to large cap stocks.  The options are Bny Mellon S&P 500 Index(.05% fee), Dodge & Cox Stock(.52%), or T Rowe Price Blue Chip Growth(.99%).  I'd love some advice on if one of these is preferred over the others.  Or if I should just keep it in the target date fund.  Thanks!

I would put every penny into the S&P500 fund, unless there are other options with expense ratios under 0.50% ? What is the expense ratio and ticker symbol (example: VTWSX) on the 2050 fund?

The expense ratio of the 2050 is .53% and it doesn't look to have a ticker symbol.  It's called Insperity Horizon Risk Managed 2050 Fund, and Insperity is the company that handles our company benefits.

+1  Those other funds don't compare.
What are some of your other options?  Any other index funds available?

Ok great, thanks for the help.  Everything else is small cap, mid cap, real estate, bonds, cash, and the one international: American Funds Europacific that has a pretty high fee of 1.14%

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
