Hi everyone! I am a first time poster but am hoping you can all help me. I currently have $1000 in a Roth IRA in my local credit union. The APR for the account is 1.01%. I was hoping you all might help direct me to a better place to grow my account. I am not offered a retirement account through my job (part-time worker bee). I am also opening a small craft business this year and am considering opening a SEP IRA in the next couple years. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

Consider a solo-401K for your small craft business. You can defer more at a lower income vs a SEP-IRA.
Vanguard Target Retirement funds have $1,000 minimums. You could start there, and either stay or move to a slightly more efficient 3 or 4 fund portfolio once you have enough dough.
