When I get asked how I want to reinvest (using Schwab)...
« on: March 22, 2014, 11:47:57 PM »
Reinvest:

Dividends and Capital Gains?
Capital Gains only?
None?

What would be the best answer?

I don't really need any proceeds now, but do want to keep present taxes low.  But not sure how to answer?

Any advice would be appreciated!  Thanks.

Is this a taxable or non-taxable (or deferred) account?
If it is a taxable account, it may be wise not to re-invest automatically:

Uhm, this one:

I understand I may need to register with Vangaurd to get a better deal when I buy.

I don't know.  Is the above taxable or not?  I'm sorry, I'm clueless.  All I know is I have $3,000 to invest right now, but don't want to be aggressive with my purchase, hence the VBINX.

I'm 37 and hoping to retire at 50 if that info is of any help.

Thanks for the link.
