I got rich and FIRE by steadfastly never doing anything about anything other than putting money in when I had it.

YMMV, I guess.

Are we out of the January 12-27 bear market?

Should I rotate from a defensive to aggressive asset allocation?

You should do both.  Half your profile should be in ~60% bonds and 40% equities, and the the other half should be in 5% bonds and 95% equites.  Make sure to keep both halves separate so they don't contaminate one another, or the bear might eat the bull, or the bull might gore the bear.  Both of those things are very, very bad.

That’s a great idea! Then during a bear I switch my 60/40 half of my portfolio with my 5/95 half. That way my defensive half becomes aggressive during downturns. I can eliminate my downside risk while ensuring I am aggressive during rising markets!

Plus, then my portfolio will be at 200%, so it is basically doubled.

I can’t believe no one has written about this yet. They could sell a lot of newsletters.
