VTCLX or VVIAX
« on: May 25, 2017, 03:42:53 PM »
Need to investigate moving funds from cash (just sold house) to something earning >0.01%

VTCLX and VVIAX seem the same except for expense ratio (0.09% vs. 0.06%)

Any insight into the difference I don't see?  or should I look into REIT since fund comes from selling real property?

VTCLX is a "tax managed" large cap blend fund that actively picks companies with lower dividends.  VVIAX is a large cap value index fund that filters for companies deemed to be a "good deal", and these companies tend to have higher dividends.  They're two different types of funds with two different goals.

If you're looking for one large cap fund I second the VTSAX recommendation.
