Title: VFSTX Projections
Post by: psychomaggle on January 08, 2018, 09:57:02 AM
I'm looking to move some investments from regular index funds to a bond fund just to have a more stable stashe in case of emergency, recession, etc. I currently have everything in index funds. I was considering VFSTX, but I'm seeing different things as far as projection for the fund goes. Which is correct? What gives? Why is Google showing no growth from this fund? Of the sources, I probably shouldn't trust Google, but it still has me concerned. Am I looking at this wrong?

VFSTX projection from 3 different sources:

Google only shows the fund's share price, most of the return of bond funds is from the dividend it pays.
