We totally lucked out on the switch. I was super pumped when HR told us they were planning on moving the plan from Principal to Vanguard. Principal's funds were way more expensive. Their S&P 500 fund had an expense ration of 0.30%. Our new plan with Vanguard offers VINIX for the S&P 500 and it only charges 0.04%. You also see the dividend payment and how many additional shares you bought with Vanguard. When we were with Principal, I never saw any dividend payments.
I just figured I would check here. I know I have seen other people post here about their 401(k) plans that are managed by Vanguard, so I thought somebody here might know. I'll probably just go bug Vanguard. Maybe it's broken and I found a bug with their site :D
Thanks Ryland! I check all my financial accounts once a day. I find that checking everything daily helps keep me on track. I don't spend as frivolously if I have a clear idea of what my money is doing or where it is going. I essentially ignored my finances for years and wasn't making any progress. Once I made them a priority, and looked at them objectively, I finally made progress.
