Title: UK Dividend Investing
Post by: frank on October 24, 2020, 02:16:34 PM
Anyone here a UK investor?

And if so does anyone have a dividend investment strategy they would recommend. Mainly hold ETF's following the fts100, 250 and also something called IUKD (an ETF following a collection of traditonal high paying dividend UK firms)

Too concentrated already to concentrate further IMHO. I did, while living in the UK last year, have a little IUKD buuut... no just stick with VWRL, much much safer.

I mean, do you want dividends? Are you holding the money in an ISA, pension? If yes to the latter question then the answer to the former is 'doesn't matter'. If you're retired, well, selling bits off as you need is fine, you don't have to have the 'magic money' (which isn't) appear automatically.

The good UK divi payers are either sooo concentrated or sooo risky... Every time I try to do something clever, I tend to realise pretty quickly - no, broad market is just better.
