TSP and Dividends
« on: March 12, 2015, 04:37:17 PM »
Does anybody know if there is a way to find out about distributions in the Thrift Savings Plan?  I have an IRA and they clearly state the declaration date and payment or reinvestment dates.  I'm sure there are distributions being made and they're being reinvested, but I just don't see them.  If anybody has any information on this I'd love to hear it.  Thanks in advance.

heh, how do you post this on the same day as the thread about No Dividend Funds? You're coming at the topic from opposite angles, but the answer is at that link: the TSP funds are Collective Investment Trusts, which reinvest their dividends internally, so you'll only see them as price appreciation.

What skyefuge said...this article explains it in a bit more detail.

Thank you Skyrefuge and Cuthbert.  That explains it.  I had been wanting to ask that question for awhile and that "No Dividend Fund" post reminded me.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
