Trad IRA worth it?
« on: October 07, 2019, 10:50:35 AM »
Is a traditional IRA worth setting up? I already max my traditional TSP, then everything else goes into the taxable account. I like the simplicity of the 2 accounts with different tax diversification. I ask if the trad IRA is worth it since the limit is 6k, I’m nearly investing that each month into my taxable, so I seems like small potatoes. Essentially when I’ll have to convert both(TSP and IRA) later when I am in a lower tax bracket. Probably not very mustachian of me but I like few accounts and simple processes.

Either a traditional or Roth IRA would be better than a taxable brokerage account.

Based on that it would appear you are above the IRA Deduction Limit, so a Roth IRA would make more sense.  What do you think?
