When exactly do the markets on Europa open?  I'm not even sure what time zone that's in.

More importantly, Europa markets are on about a half hour delay (hour round trip) due to the speed of light.  Those who invest in ansible tech will wipe the floor with c-traders

Nobody ever went broke investing in Europan real estate.

That's because no one has tried.

I'm buying here.  Much more convenient.

I can apparently buy my house for E$245.45.  Seems reasonable.

I'm so sorry everyone.  I did a little full moon dance, in the garden, after my cash out refi.

I was feeling very powerful.  I should have come straight to this thread and warned everyone the "Top is In".

Don't know how much my stocks are down at the moment, but our real estate is up $168,000 in value since the start of the year.

I would NEVER have predicted that home prices would go up so much during this pandemic.  Never.

Hmm, 47000 / 20 = 2350 bills.
2350 / 50 = 47 stacks.
That would fit in one backpack.

When I got my first engineering job out of school my rent/insurance/student loans was more than my paycheck. I would take my check to the bank and cash it for stacks of 1$ bills just so I could carry the money around, to make it feel real. Then on Monday I would deposit it all on my way to work because I owed every last dollar to other people. Otherwise I was just working 60+ hours for digital money to go in and out of an account with nothing to show.

Miss those stacks... new life goal is to have a backpack full of 20 stacks. Don’t need to keep it, but just for fun for a few days. Think I can just go to the bank and ask them to fill a backpack with 20 stacks? Do you need to call ahead to get that kind of cash out at one time?

Markets quickly rebounded an hour after I posted, which means my loss for the day is no longer $67k, but you can see my portfolio leverage and do the math to extrapolate what it was at about 2:20p.m. It also means I may have found a new way to ensure the bottom is in - by promising loss porn to people, only to disappoint later. Previously, I thought I had to sell something to cause a rebound, but this new tech is definitely better.

I probably have another $20k in losses in other accounts I'm too lazy to check.

I know a guy that walks around with 10k+ everyday, a roll of 100s. He calls it is his "feel good money" - he said he just carries it around to feel good. He has a separate roll for his "spending money"

When I graduated from college, my parents asked me what I wanted for graduation and I said "a briefcase full of money".  Turns out, you can fit about $4000 in ones inside a briefcase.  They opened every bundle, too, so bringing into the bank was actually kind of a pain. :)

No, you just show up wearing a ski mask and without saying anything hand them a note made from letters clipped out of magazines that says "you know what to do" and hold out the open backpack. Trust me.

In a brief moment of seriousness: folks do keep in mind the risk of being stopped by the police and having all that cash seized without due process via "civil asset forfeiture" based on their view that regular people don't carry that much money so it must be either intended to buy drugs or the proceeds from the sale of drugs.

Alright carry on.

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Hedge Funds on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched T-bonds glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like memes in rain. Time to buy.”

A+ !!!!!

Miss those stacks... new life goal is to have a backpack full of 20 stacks. Don’t need to keep it, but just for fun for a few days. Think I can just go to the bank and ask them to fill a backpack with 20 stacks? Do you need to call ahead to get that kind of cash out at one time?

No, you just show up wearing a ski mask and without saying anything hand them a note made from letters clipped out of magazines that says "you know what to do" and hold out the open backpack. Trust me.

It probably wouldn't get the same level response in 2021 as it would have in 2019.  Wearing a ski mask is just the responsible thing to do.

I know.  That's so 20th century.  Is there not a way for a responsible green-minded 21st century suspicious bank-robber-esque type person to go paperless?

I used to have a ransom note app on my phone which did just this.  That was one of the first apps I put on my iPhone back in the olden days.  Can’t for the life of me remember why I thought I needed it.

You know, with a little more bragging about losing giant sums of money, this thread would be a lot like WallStreetBets.
I was down $67,000 earlier today. Sadly only down $47k ATM. Beat that, wimps!!!

screenshot or it didn't happen!

I'm impressed you found an ATM that will dispense $47k.  Was it all in 20s?

Hmm, 47000 / 20 = 2350 bills.
2350 / 50 = 47 stacks.
That would fit in one backpack.
Barely a scratch!
Let us know when you need a trailer to carry the missing money.

I have a backpack of money story!

In my youth my bank wanted to charge me a 50$ service fee to withdraw money from an account that I had open and transfer it to another bank.  So, after asking them to waive it and getting nowhere I told them that I wanted to withdraw all the money from my account (no service fee).  There was about 20 grand in the account, and they told me that I'd have to wait a week for them to get the money.  So I went back a week later (noticing that there were two armed guards on duty in the bank lobby that I'd never seen before) walked up to the teller, and asked for my money.  She nervously counted out the 20ish grand in quite a few stacks of bills, which I put in my backpack.  Then I rode my bike down to the other bank and tried to deposit the money in the atm.  But realized that would take forever as the ATM couldn't take many bills at once . . . so had to go in to the teller there to deposit it.

I always felt like it would have been cheaper for the bank to waive the transfer fee, but meh.
