Another 5% down?  This sucks.

It's going to keep dropping until the quarantines end.

Government has to make a decision if this is worth it if it means the US economy ceases to exist, because that's the inevitable situation. The economy is service based, not "telework" based.

By the time quarantine ends it will have rebounded.  Do people not realize the market is forward looking?  The only thing that will drive it lower is is things get worse than expected.  Simply getting worse as expected is not enough

Nobody knows what these know unknowns will turn out to be.  Keep yer stick on the ice

So you're saying bottom is in?

I've also heard all investors are totally rational and forward looking. None of them react with fear/panic at all!

No of course not.  Don't be ridiculous.  Top is in.  But let's not get crazy.

all Dow gains since Trump was elected now gone. you all have lost around 30% and over 3 years of investing, how long to you think it will take for you all to gain it back ? very unlikely that will be less than 3 years.  your biggest limitation is time.

you all mocked me everytime I posted here. if you wish continue, go ahead; but for those that are now done with buy and hold, please learn moving averages or follow lance Roberts newsletter recommendations.
https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/no-one-saw-it-coming-should-you-worry-about-10-best-days

When you declared the end of this market was near [two years ago] and it ended up falling for completely different reasons than you predicted.

And be honest with yourself. Any mockery made was a two-way street.

If you have their cards, Chase and Bank of America - 0% 13-14 month balance transfers for a 3% fees. Both also will do a cash advance under these terms. Both have been offering this to me consistently for as long as I've had the cards, so I'm betting on being able to essentially roll these over to more 0% balance transfer offers in a year's time.

Granted, this is a way to scare up a few tens of thousands and it can take a little while. Be better if it could scale further, but every little bit.

There will be a dead cat bounce on Tuesday, itís when my TSP contribution goes in so totally a dead cat bounce that day.  I predict at least 5%.

Wow good call! What's going to happen tomorrow?

The good news is that working from home broke my excel formulas and now I don't have an easy way to check my stash.

Things are good right, Top is in and all is normal?

I got into your spreadsheet and got a snapshot for you:

TOP IS IN!

Interesting point about spreadsheets as technically mine only gets updated with a snapshot in time on the 1st of the month so I am still a week away from anything being "official" and anything in between the 1st and next 1st is just noise.  Right now the news is nothing but noise so it is best just to ignore it and keep at your plan.  Anyway I am somewhere between between Feb 2019 and March 2019 in net worth and liquid assets and I took on $15,000 of debt for a truck loan since then.  88% of Top here and I bet Top isn't in yet!

Certainly more optimism it seems.  I still expect there to be bad news in the future that may cause some down days... jobs, employment, no stimulus round 2, etc.  But it's also possible that it will be less bad than expected and even the "bad" news will cause the market to rise.  Just more evidence that not trying to time the market is the best option in crazy times like this.

Good to see that the mockery and sarcasm tops are indeed not in!

I do miss the graphs though, how far from the top am I if I don't have regularly updated graphs?

Here's a graph?

I think this one shows us that the Top is In... you have to read between the lines a little bit.. and if you do it properly all graphs say what you need them too, not what you want, but what you deserve.

Iíve been rooting for us all along. I knew we could do it! When we do it we do it big. USA!! USA!!

At this rate we should be hitting Chinaís total case count each day in about 7 days.
That will show the world who is best, and give a chance to really demonstrate just how capable the best healthcare system in the world is. Just ask the doctors at my local hospital, Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, NY.

Last I heard they were filling semi trailers with dead bodies and there was a line 100ís of people long waiting to get tested. Truly top notch.

Just a little further off thread topic, but I couldn't resist -

Coronavirus: Mexicans demand crackdown on Americans crossing the border

For some reason Alanis Morissette comes to mind.

Irony top is in.

USA reached the TOP of the "total cases of COVID-19" list today.

TOP IS IN on so-called American exceptionalism.

Iíve been rooting for us all along. I knew we could do it! When we do it we do it big. USA!! USA!!

At this rate we should be hitting Chinaís total case count each day in about 7 days.

It's like buying STONKS... when the TOP IS IN

It's like going to CASH.... at the bottom AGAIN

It's like fear is BACK... there are earnings to WATCH

And who could have called?  It's THORSTACH

(and options have a funny way of gravitating towards maximum pain)

Here's a graph?

I think this one shows us that the Top is In... you have to read between the lines a little bit.. and if you do it properly all graphs say what you need them too, not what you want, but what you deserve.

Yes, yes it is.

The thread top has been in since April 2017, too.  If you read back through all 134 pages you will see that it has definitely been all downhill from there.  We had a deadcat bounce of seriousness a couple weeks ago, but that was based on market timing snake oil and not good fundamentals.  We're now back to meming our way to the bottom.

BTC has also dropped sharply along with the markets. I would have thought BTC would be doing pretty well, but I guess if everyone's dead then there's no use for any currency, let alone crypto.
It's up just slightly since this time last year, but still less than 50% from the 2017 peak.
