I store all my bitcoins in my safety deposit box.
Due to the recent rallies and arguably "bubble valuations", has anyone taken say 2 or even 3 years out of the portfolio so they can run on cash if it were to dip? Better than pulling 4% from a portfolio that got split in half.Just an idea
Quote from: BTDretire on December 18, 2017, 10:16:41 AMI wonder how many posters will be in this thread if we have a 20% correction. You better believe that if/when there's a 20% drop these hills will be alive with the sound of thorstach crowing about his market timing skills and hawking his bouncy dead cats for anyone who wants to sell all their shares to buy one. Some of us may not return daily for that scene, but rest assured that the the top will eventually roar back, so will we, and so will the live bouncy cats.
I wonder how many posters will be in this thread if we have a 20% correction.

Succinct , true, pithy.I'd like to apologize to Tonyahu, as on the thread http://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/investor-alley/i-don't-believe-in-the-4-rule-anymore/ , Tonyahu is getting hassled for NOT market timing. Tonyahu has a large bitcoin position, and nearly everyone says "the bitcoin top is in, run for the hills".

I don't get it, why can't people follow simple instructions and sell at the top? Buy low (at the bottom), sell high (at the top)! Simple. Real simple.
... the principal here is broader then bitcoin. Just make sure you sell your stocks at the top!!! This way you maximize your profit. Then do not forget to load up again on stocks at the bottom.

By my count, we opened this morning at a new YTD high, and since then we've put in eleven new tops over the course of the day. But the Google ticker only gives you updates every five minutes, so I probably missed a whole bunch.
