And.... Go!

Who can beat it?

2/10 tries beat the market for me.  Awesome visualizer.

I think it's fun to play with. Unfortunately this isn't all that great a tool to convince people that timing the market is hard because you're only making decisions based on price, not based on other factors that people can use to make a decision on whether they should buy or sell (such as P/E ratio).

Yes, a similar game based on a P/E graph could be fun too.

I can't beat this, but I can match it almost every time by just hitting sell and buy as fast as i can right at the start, effectively using the game to index.

Sell your children for cash, facepunch Robert Shiller, and buy, Buy, BUY!!

I beat it first try. I didn't do anything special. It was going up and then flat for awhile. Sold. It went up a little more and then it dropped. As soon as it dropped a decent amount I bought back in before it went back up.

Would I encourage this?  No...

Great visualizer. I wonder what the effects would be if you could pick your 'buy' point first and then your 'sell' point.

Edit: Beat 5/10 times.

A similar game with P/E, as well as 30 year Treasuries interest rates would be more interesting.

Here it is just looking at a price chart without prior history or other data.

It scrolled a little fast for me, but I didn't make any trades, so I did OK. :)

I beat the market 7/10 times. Though two of those were only barely. Very cool simulation.
