UK person here, about to open my ISA (for non-UK people, taxable income goes in and then interest/growth is tax free) and invest in Vanguard LifeStrategy 100% fund.
Considered the 80% one but decided as we're 29 and holding for at least 10 years i'd go in at 100%. Right now i have £12,000 cash and i'm putting £5,000 into the fund and keeping the rest as our emergency fund. That means all of our savings can pretty much go to the investment rather than simultaneously building the cash fund (although we will have small savings accounts for things like holidays).
Still considering adding the Vanguard REITs, but haven't decided yet...
