Shame the rest of my portfolio tanked!

Looks like they already dropped back to their earlier value. Good call if you sold!

I think it was dodgy data, I don't think they shot up 17.4%
The data they get from the UK markets seems to be quite untrustworthy.
In my brokerage acc the 17.4% spike was never reflected.

Still... funny :D

A large investor may have bought a lot of shares at a higher price for whatever reason (maybe their algorithm decided for them) and others may have then sold to capture those gains (but too many tried to sell at once).  That ETF is fairly low volume so I'm not surprised at the large fluctuations.

Quite possible, but I am more inclined to lead with the idea that the data is junk and no actual fluctuations took place in the asset value.
Bad data sources on an obscure low volume fund.
