Reading resources for the Basics and Jargon?

Title sort of says it all, I was sure if this was the right place to post it. Im specifically interested in learning about stocks and that market right now. I dont really know anything about it but I know it is my responsibility to my future to learn.
Im reading a lot online but most of what Ive gound is leading in circles and not that helpful.
Am I researching wrong, because my results say yes.

What kind of basics and what jargon?

Like do you need a definition for stocks? That level I'd just google stuff and try to understand it. Or look for a 101 type explanation online.

The basics of investing? I'd read jlcollinsnh stock series.

I found that starting out Investopedia does a good job of explaining the basic terms and jargon that everyone uses.

Just need to ignore all the advice they try to peddle while reading definitions.

Bogleheads is a great learning site for investors. It focuses on low-cost investing so is a good match for MrMM.

As far as what jargon in particular.
Lets just pretend I know absolutely zilch.
I know I know some things, but I feel like I still dont know what I know if that makes sense.
