Title: Previous employer 401(k) changing investments question
Post by: lulu0915 on July 09, 2020, 06:45:26 PM
Hello,
I have a 401(k) with a previous employer. Right now my investments are under FID Freedom 2045 (you can see in screenshots below). FSTVX is not an option. Any other funds I should consider? There is FXAIX. Or should I do something else with this 401(k)? Our IRAs are with Vanguard.

An 80/20 mix of FXAIX and FSMAX would probably roughly approximate a total US market fund. FSNAX and FTIHX would be good international stock and US bond funds to round out a 3 fund portfolio.

Rolling over to an IRA would be a fine option too, particularly if you don't expect to need to make backdoor Roth contributions in the future (or have other substantial traditional IRA balances).
