Maxing Out 3 Retirement Accounts - Allocation?
« on: January 25, 2021, 10:09:18 PM »
Hey!

Maxing out my wife’s 457 (100% VTSAX) my 401k (SP 500 Index) along with my HSA (100% VTSAX).

About to max out her 403b.  We are early 30s with a retirement goal of 50.

I am typically all in on 100% VTSAX but is there a different allocation you would consider for this last account to better diversify?

Thank you in advance!

We use Ray Dalio's All Season's (aka All Weather) Portfolio. It's a low volatility portfolio that fits our situation and goals. Before I FIREd, we had a Schwab brokerage account and two work accounts (Vanguard and Lincoln), and we used a spreadsheet to implement the portfolio across these three platforms.

This post on tax-efficient fund placement might help understand what we put where and why. https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Tax-efficient_fund_placement#:~:text=Tax%2Defficient%20fund%20placement%20is,(tax%20%22deferred%22

I hope that's what you're asking about!
