Title: Parking cash - looking for a low risk ETF.
Post by: 2buttons on May 23, 2016, 08:46:46 AM
I have a good sized buffer in my checking account. Never had to really touch it in years. Starting to think about siphoning half of it off to invest in a low risk etf.

Any suggestions for a low risk, better than 1% return ETF to put those employees to work?

I think you need to define "low risk".

Vanguard Short-Term Govmt Bond ETF VGSH is what I think of as low risk. Yield 0.66%.

How about vanguard target retirement income fund: 30% stocks 70% bonds. If that is too risky there is also the balanced income fund which is 20/80.
