Anyone want to share/split a Morningstar membership?
« on: September 02, 2015, 03:32:48 PM »
While the vast majority of my investments are in Mustachian Vanguard funds, I do have a small amount of fun money that I like to invest in individual companies.  I have found Morningstar to be a useful research tool, but I'm not wild about paying $180/year for their content. Anyone out there want to share a membership and split the costs?

Does your public library not offer this? That's how I have a free Morningstar subscription.

$180 / year seems very reasonable; especially compared to what Motley Fool charges you.

I don't currently use MorningStar; I use a new service called TradeScribe

https://tradescribe.com/search/

It's a peer to peer investment research marketplace; similar to MorningStar but more like ebay but verified.

There's not much on TradeScribe yet (only about 50 portfolios), but I found it useful for buying investment research as well as creating my own and selling it for passive income.

I don't think most libraries have MorningStar any more; I know mine does not.

I would also check with your library.  My local library has a subscription to Morningstar and Value Line that I use frequently.

Thanks, all, for the tips.  I am a regular library-goer, but it had not even occurred to me to check there, and as it turns out, they do have a subscription.  Thanks for the advice!

I'm curious, is there a way to group purchase a "Newsletter" and share it online so search engines don't pick it up?
 Is it legal?
