Anyone care to help me with ROTH IRA fund choices
« on: May 28, 2020, 10:36:57 AM »
hey guys,

I want to consolidate my funds in my Fidelity ROTH IRA, as right now I have way too many, about 10 that include bio tech, tech, small cap, international, etc

I was looking to use any or all of the Fidelity zero funds: FZILX, FZROX, FZIPX and FNILX.

What funds would you choose and the corresponding % for each . I have about 110k in ROTH $$ if that makes any difference.

Appreciate any feedback.

Good asset allocation for an individual depends on personal tastes and circumstances.

I'd take into account:
age
income
expense level
debt
net worth
any major purchase goals (eg, home)
job stability
comfort with falling asset values
any spouses or children
net worth
how much you like or hate your work
time to FIRE assuming 4% returns
instinctive real estate opinions
what are your other assets, current and expected

Supposing you are in accumulation stage with no debt, no significant other and modest risk tolerance, a typical allocation of 70% stock /30% bonds is reasonable. In my opinion, putting a portion of the the stock $ in foreign stock is wise too. Example implementation could be:

50% FZROX
20% FZILX
30% FXNAX

If you are comfortable with volatility, and want to maximize long term gains, of course your all-stock suggestions are a good focus. In that event, I'd go 70% FZROX and 30% FZILX. My reason for those funds is to gain the advantage and relative stability of broad holdings with minimal effort.
