Title: Maxing out SEP IRA in 2016
Post by: slamuel on November 04, 2015, 08:33:21 AM
Hello,

Assuming all goes as planned, I will be in a situation in mid-2016 where I've hit the max SEP IRA contribution limit ($53,000). I will also be earning roughly $225K+ next year which will limit my ability to use some more traditional investment options.

I'd like to keep investing, but my question to the group is what should I invest in? What would you do?

As an FYI, my guess would be that I'll have another roughly $30K-$40K to invest for the remainder for 2016.

Thanks

If you don't want to put independent thought into it, pick one of the Vanguard portfolios from Bogleheads (3-fund, 4-fund, whatever) and move on. Otherwise, you're going to have to think about what your goals and risk tolerances are, and then do a bunch of research.

How are you investing (or planning to invest) the $53K?
