Investment Order
« on: February 08, 2021, 09:42:31 AM »
My wife and I over the last couple years have really tried to nail down getting our investments in order. We both came from families that didn't use traditional investment "vehicles".

We have managed to pay off our debt that wasn't our mortgage over the past few years. (credit cards, cars etc) so the only revolving debt we really have is the house.

I am self employed but contribute cap my roth IRA every year at $6000. (Have for the last three years). She has a work 401K and a roth that she contributes to.

Outside of this I have a small vanguard brokerage account I use but don't mess with stocks much for long term and I know I need to change that now. I do work in a commission based business so it's hard for me to have exact amounts monthly to contribute to things because my income fluctuates.

I guess I'm looking for advice on where our money should be going at this point. Self employment 401K for me? Maybe invest in bigger (relatively safer) stocks like apple etc?

Sorry if this is a noob question.

+1  It's a very well thought out order of investments that's the consensus of lots of smart people from this board.  Stick with it and you will be in great shape.
