Lending Robot double referral bonus for next 100 hours
« on: September 17, 2015, 02:48:25 PM »
If anyone here invests at Lending Club or has thought about investing, Lending Robot is a pretty great website for auto investing. It invests instantly (pretty much instantly) when loans are released, has great filter options, and also uses its own algorithms to estimate returns and invest based on those returns.

For example, I can set up a simple rule like:

Or I can make it even easier by just choosing how conservative or aggressive I want to be:

Anyhow, I just wanted to bring this up that Lending Robot is giving double referral bonuses for the next 100 hours. Meaning if you sign up, you'll get $15k managed for free (and the person who referred you gets another $10k managed for free). Everything over your free amount gets charged 0.45% of assets under management.

Once you create an account and link your credit card, the person who referred you will get their bonus.

I thought I'd share my referral link here. If somebody signs up, post your referral link below. Then new visitors, please use the last referral link you see.

Here's my Lending Robot referral link: https://www.lendingrobot.com/ref/KgqKw948/

I see this needs a LendingClub account.
Is this available outside the US?
Also, does this needs to be declared in your tax statement? I am thinking of trying it with very small sums (max 500 usd).

According to Google, you don't need to be in the US to have a LC account.
Yes, this needs to be declared on your tax statement (taxed as ordinary income.  It's not efficient unless done in an IRA - similar to an REIT in this way.)
It's not a good idea to use very small amounts like $500 because you can't buy enough notes to diversify at $25 each.  $500 dollars would only get you 20 notes.  You need at least 100 (min. investment $2500) to get some degree of diversification.  The exception would be if you are giving it a "test run" to gauge your investing criteria before committing a larger amount.

If you're not going to do it in IRA, and with at least $2500, I wouldn't recommend it.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
