Just barely long term investment?
« on: December 19, 2014, 11:28:35 AM »
I'm new to MMM but have been investing for a while; started with index funds and now use index ETFs.
I'm thinking of doing a little more active investing so I've been doing some reading.
Most active investing info (on the web) seems to be for day traders.  I don't have that much time to invest, but even if I did the short term capital gain taxes would be substantial.
I'm thinking I'd like to invest for the current market and economy, but for 1.25 - 2 years so it'll be at long term capital gain tax rates.  Most probably with sector ETFs.
I can't find any information on doing this.  Is there a term for this?  Has anyone done this?

Short term = 1 year or less.
Long term - more than 1 year (366 days).
