Hi there from Argentina!
I'm ready to start investing through my online broker ANZ securities account, but I need some advice in order to make a short-listing on NZX & ASX markets shares and etfs.
I only have a small amount to invest, and maybe in a couple of months, I can add another small amount (around 3k)
Can someone give some advice for short/medium & long term?
Thanks a lot!

Hello from the USA!
Have you read anything on this blog or forum? If not, start by reading the next few links first, before making your first investment in a short. Please don't make that investment before reading these... you will be much better off.

Lastly, to quote Indexer from these forums:
"Bad idea.
Do you think you know more, or can otherwise make better decisions than everyone else out there? People with significantly more money (billions of $), resources (multi-billion $ corporations behind them, with super computers), time (they're working on this 80 hours a week, it's literally all they do), and experience?
To the point where you can have a non-related full-time job, come home, read a few pages of text on a blog somewhere while relaxing after work, and literally take money from people who are (frankly) much smarter than you?
Please, don't take this as a personal attack. These are the questions everyone should ask themselves before they consider making a move like this. Expecting a strategy you read on a blog somewhere to result in successfully winning against people like this, is like expecting to beat Lebron James in basketball because you read on a blog that the three-point line on the sides are much closer to the basket.
It's a zero-sum game, don't waste your time."

Thanks a lot for your reply & links Frugal Fisherman!
After reading your links, I can tell that here, in Argentina, we have the very same kind of share market advices/warnings/tips and so on.
Hopefully (or not), I'm not planning to beat the market, or trying to make a retirement fund. In Argentina, we had a 45% inflation last year, and this year we had a forecast of 30%,so this kind of investment is for me only a way to "protect" my savings from inflation... 🙄
Will continue reading a lot, and when I feel more confident, will make a pick and star on share market.
Thanks!! 😊
