iShares cheaper than Vanguard?

Seems like it might be worth the switch... is anyone else considering switching from VTI?

I'm not considering switching from VTI just to get ITOT. However, it does make it a nice tax loss harvesting possibility. Also, I have funds at both Vanguard and Fidelity and this makes me a lot happier to use ITOT in my Fidelity account.

One thing I do like more about VTI though is it seems to do a better job of being total market whereas ITOT is just the the top 1500. Admittedly not a deal breaker.

If you are at Fidelity, ITOT is great and if at Vanguard then VTI is great. One thing I dislike about the international iShares ETF though is the spreads can be pretty large.

Vanguard is owned by the people that invest in its fund and is extremely ethical, most companies are controlled by people that may or not be ethical, and that can change to other people that may or may not be ethical. Within Vanguard the expense ratios will always be very low because no one can profit from raising them. This article about Vanguard also talks of it's badassity. Vanguard is clearly the best choice for me and I don't think I'll ever switch.

Besides Vanguard, another option is Schwab's SCHB which sits right between the two at .04%. With 2,500 companies, broader coverage than ITOT and if you have an account with them, no commissions on Scwab ETF trades. But at .03%, Blackrock is another great option for those just starting out, so long as this isn't a short-term market share grab.

By the time you consider bid/ask spreads it might not be that big a difference, not that it was that big a difference anyhow.

I thought I read somewhere that ITOT was switching the index for more broad coverage.
