is brexit causing US equity to skyrocket?

my usa index is 17% up after 1.5 months :O

i can only imagine that it's beacuase the USD has gotten stronger against the GBP and so reflects in company's that have UK businesses

or am i wrong and usa is just doing what it does best and making monay

Sounds like you've got lucky in that you've bought US$ assets as in your index and since then your own currency GBP has been smashed, giving you your gain.

Yeah, pretty much all of that gain is due to the pound losing value relative to the dollar.  US investors in US stocks are about even over that same time period.

very interesting. thanks. i suppose these further proves the argument of diversifying globally. if i didn't have any US equity in my portfolio i would likely be down quite a bit now. but instead im 10% up in total

This is also happening to my US holdings in $CAD.  I'm set to rebalance annually in March but wonder if it's getting time to sell US high and buy Europe low, or if I just wait till March and rebalance as planned.
