My friend and I were having a debate about historic returns (read lump sum vs DCA) and while I can find calculators that will tell you what your ROI was if you invested in say June 2000 I can't find anythign that estimates ROI if you invested money monthly, quarterly, or even annualy. Do you guys know of any calculators that can do this?

Say you both have 1200 to invest. Starting from zero.
Case 1: 1/1/2017 invest all 1200, yearly compounding: $1284 12/31/2017
Case 2: on 1st of every month invest 100, monthly compounding $1246 12/31/2017
