Recently, I switched jobs and rolled over my HSA, 401K, and Roth 401k into Vanguard. My mind has been blown with all the options. Originally all three accounts had similar investment portfolios because my choses were so limited. The breakdown can be seen below. However, now that I have more options, I am trying to figure out the best portfolio. I don’t intend to retire for at least 8-10 more years, and all accounts will not be touched. I have a different HSA, 401k and Roth options with my new company which I will invest in a similar manor as below. I believe I should probably invest in tax inefficient funds and high growth funds in my HSA and ROTH IRA. Should I invest in REITs, dividends in those accounts? Any recommendations for breakdown in those 2 accounts would be appreciated as wells as the rollover IRA? Also, would you continue with a comparable portfolio as what I have below for my rollover IRA.
1: 40% VTI (or comparable)
2. 25% International
3. 15% Midcap
3. 15% Smallcap
4. 5% Bonds/Cash-The bond funds were poor and I am not a fan of bond funds with low yields.
Below is a % of my total investments each account has.
HSA: 4%
Roth: 3%
401K: 53%
Taxable Investments: 25%
Taxable Alternatives: 10%
Other accounts: 5% (Wife’s 401k,etc.)
