vanguard is offering VTIBX, total international bond index fund, mostly from developed market, also some emerging markets. Does anyone have experience with similar index funds, their performance over time, etc?

What proportion of your asset allocation is in bonds? What would holding this fund in addition to your others do for you?

I'm 35yo, 150K asset, aiming for retirement in 10 years; 20% is my upper limit for bond holdings.
