Title: Interactive brokers Australia - No mutual funds - WTF??
Post by: Grogounet on November 18, 2016, 07:56:13 PM
Hi Guys, for those Aussies trading with IB, can you confirm that we cannot trade mutual funds?
When I called on Friday to check, the lady on the phone didn't seem very knowledgeable and said we couldn't... I said to my self "well, she probably doesn't know".

I want to buy VFIAX and then... cannot!
Am I correct? How do you guys then buy US mutual funds from down under??

You can just buy exchange traded funds that trade on the ASX, like VTS.

Thanks but you can buy direct US shares that are not traded on the ASX also, via Interactive Brokers I believe:
Like VOO (ETF). But I m more interested in VFIAX, which is a mutual fund.
