Another Newbie investor
« on: February 23, 2016, 08:51:45 AM »
On my path to FI, Family is out of debt, cars paid off, and maximized our monthly saving potential a bit. Ready to start investing. General consensus on these forums and else where, In regards to where to start dumping money, is in VTSAX or something similar for the time being until you have at least 50k.
In the mean time though Id like to know what to do with employee sponsored retirement ?

KAISER PERMANENTE SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT PLAN (PLAN B)
Kaiser contributes 5% of my annual income
Limited to 10%max paycheck contribution
18k currently invested

KAISER PERMANENTE TAX SHELTERED ANNUITY PLAN (TSA)
No Kaiser contriution
Up to 100%paycheck contribution
7k currently invested

Also two different pension plans, one through the company and one through being represented?

What do I do with this stuff? Do I ignore it and just focus on me personal investment? or Can I use these things as a benefit?

This is a bit vague.  Can you contribute to both the funds?  Are they both tax sheltered?  If so, get your 5% from your employer first, then go into the TSA.

Give us more particulars!

No Plan B is not Tax Sheltered, plan B Receives 5% from my employer no matter what, and I'm limited to contribute 10%max from a paycheck, The TSA account has no employer contribution, but I can contribute 100% of my check too it.

My big question first is if this is worth doing anything with? Or Should I just focus on my own personal investments? Especially assuming early retirement like 40
