How to open a Vanguard account...
« on: July 22, 2014, 07:42:50 AM »
I am retiring a small CD and want to open a Vanguard account that I can add to when I have some extra$$$  I am retired and living on a smallish pension, not yet sufficiently "golden" to receive Social Security so we're hardly talking what many of you would consider a fortune. Fortunately I was born frugal, although I've had a few financial setbacks.

Thank you for any assistance.

https://investor.vanguard.com/what-we-offer/?WT.srch=1

Red button on the right stating "Open an account"

Things to consider: depending on the fund you're choosing there may/will be a minimum, you can choose a regular account, IRA account, or Roth IRA depending on your particular needs, they have a variety of funds that will meet your particular AA.

You can also give them a call. They've been incredibly helpful in my recent experience of setting up accounts there.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
