I know a huge number of people on MMM forum put a lot of their money into VTSAX. I also know a huge amount of you have been able to invest a lot longer than some of us that are a bit younger.
I put my first big chunk into VTSAX when it was $54.49 a share.
I just thought it would be cool to see how low/high it was when people first bought since I know it’s a big investment vehicle for a lot of mustachians.

VTSAX on 7/11/2005 (per Vanguard 1099) about 29.28.
But I believe the VTSAX minimum was 10K (??100K??) at the time, so VTSMX as I remember Vanguard "converting" it to VTSAX when I met the miniumum.

When I found this website it was Nov. 2016 and I opened a Vanguard IRA and bought VTSMX for around $57.

I bought into VTSAX about 5 and half years ago and it was at $49 a share!

My earliest VTSAX transaction was Nov 2010, for $30.51/share. (That sounds really cool, except that purchase was a small amount!)
Ironically, my introduction to VTSAX wasn't from MMM...it was from reading a book called, "Mutual Funds for Dummies," and the author recommend Vanguard funds, and broad index funds in particular for beginner investors (or anyone, really).

Mine was about 41 dollars a share in mid-2013.

A few weeks ago I sold VTSAX shares I've held for over a decade, and dividing the cost basis by the number of shares, I get $36.76/share. Vanguard only holds 7 years of statements (for me), and they show some of my shares were purchased in Jan 2013, and the rest "Various". I only have statements going back to 2009, which show I already owned VTSAX at the start of that year.
