I am consdering this to have some bonds, total market, and some international exposure:
FID Total Bonds (FTBFX) 10%
FID EXT MKT IDX PR (FSEVX)65%
FID INTL INDEX PR (FSIVX) 25%

That is the extended market index, which is mid caps and small caps. Specifically, it's what you'd have if you took the total market index and then removed the S&P 500.

What we need are the Expense ratios? Also how much simplicity do you want in your portfolios.

If simplicity is desired and the expense ratios of the Target date funds are low, then those may be advisable.

If you are ok with rebalancing then a three/four fund portfolio with

FUSVX
(FSEVX)
FSIVX
FTBFX

may work well.

If you want a total market index, you can hold S&P 500 and that conpletion index in a 4:1 ratio.

This is one more fund to keep in balance. And the performance of the S&P 500 is pretty close to that of the total market. You have to weigh the inconvenience of adding anther fund to your portfolio vs getting that total market.

I would pick FUSVX over FSEVX.

Another thing. Look at your portfolio as a whole when deciding asset allocation. Do you have other accounts such as IRAs etc? Are you married and if so are your finances done jointly? If so, you may want to look at your partners investments as well. Good luck.

Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund    VTSMX40%
Vanguard Total International Stock Index Fund VGTSX 32%
Vanguard REIT Index Fund VGSIX 8%

Significant other has 401K and Roth IRA at Vanguard.  Currently all in Target 2050

Just a note, if you have a fidelity 401k, it is possible to link it with a 401k brokerage link account (may depend on the details of your employer's plan) in which you can have access to the entire stock market rather than the few funds fidelity presents to you.  This opens the door to very low cost index ETFs or even other mutual funds that are not on the list of your 401k.  There was no fee to set that up.

Again this may depend on how your employer set up the plan, but as far as fidelity is concerned this is possible.

Thanks for this.  I have seen that as a button/banner on the site but have not investigated.
