Hello!
So recently the first stock brokerage just opened in my country (yes only recently). And it only allows me to access 3 stock exchanges, namely Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Being an absolute beginner I need advice on suitable index, ETF and bonds I can buy from any of these three stock exchanges. Starting at 90% equities and 10% bonds, increasing bonds by 1% each year.
For bonds I have namely ABF Pan Asia Bond Index, 2821.HK (Hong Kong exchange), Expense Ratio: 0.19%, that covers bonds from a large range of Asian countries.
However I am very stuck on ETF and Indexes. Vanguard is extremely popular with the folks on this forum but because I only have access to these 3 stock exchanges, I only have Vanguard Hong Kong (
https://www.vanguard.com.hk/portal/investments/investments.htm) to rely on. However before I consider just blindly buying from them, I had done some research and apparently investors around Asia don't seem as keen on their funds due to the fact that they are still relatively new. But Vanguard might be my only opportunity to diversify my portfolio outside of Asia.
Your help will be greatly needed!
(Note: My country does not have a stock exchange yet. Also I can't transfer a large amount of money outside my country to invest in foreign brokerages without being investigated by the police, yikes)
