Title: Funds for Roth IRA vs Traditional IRA?
Post by: jeromedawg on October 10, 2017, 11:13:35 AM
Hey all,

Was just curious but for those who have both Roth and Traditional IRAs, do you choose specific funds for either or? Or do you avoid holding certain funds in one versus the other? This is outside of the context of funds to invest in for taxable vs tax-deferred/tax-advantaged accounts btw.

Since the cap is so small annually for IRAs.  I just shove them all into Vanguard total stock so that I can leave them alone when it comes time to rebalance for the year.

Even if you only had 401k + IRA in 1 year you'll triple the size of the 401k compared to the IRA so unless you have a coming soon need for cash out of a Roth, I think single fund is the easiest route for an IRA.
