Ford stock vs FCA and GM...
« on: January 17, 2018, 12:52:26 PM »
I don't really follow these much, and I would appreciate some insight as to why F is where it is on the 2 yr chart, relative to GM and FCA.  Thank you.

I will comment briefly on FCA vs Ford

Ford pays a dividend (~4%) while Fiat does not, that alone explains 4% annual returns all else being equal.

Ford net income has dropped while Fiat net income (gross and per share) has gone up almost 10x. Similar story regarding Revenue growth too.

Ford has way too much debt relative to equity, Fiat on the other hand, does not.

Ford's interest expense has gone up, Fiat's has gone down.

Just my opinions.

Thanks anisotropy.  Wow, to think FCA is where they are; I can remember very poor quality products from the 70's and 80's, the bailout, nearly going out of business several times, Dr. Z...  FIAT; wow, even more amazing.  I have experienced their products in Europe, seen the low sales and reliability stateside, and yet look where they are...

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
