Favorite Market/Finance site?
« on: June 23, 2016, 06:57:29 AM »
What is your favorite site or resource to track the market and particular indexes?  Some are so clunky with too much info and some have too many ads and fancypants graphics going on and can crash my mildly outdated flash/shockwave, etc.  I'd like to find a simple site where I could add what I want to track, while also having a bit of big picture info.  What do you like?

I know the MMM philosophy chides us not to stress over market changes, but I enjoy watching certain things and I also must track ag commodities and futures for a work project. I'm not trying to time the market.

I figured my fellow finance geeks would have some good suggestions. :)  Thanks in advance!

finviz.com (awesome)

marketwatch, morningstar: both of these are more glitzy, paid ad, etc

Zerohedge for the contrarian view ;)

Daily Tracking:  Google Finance
Weekly research:  Barrons.com (the weekly financial digest)

NOTE:  a way to read Barron's paid articles FREE is to, a) Go to Barrons.com, and find the article titles, b) to to "Google News", and search for that article in 'news'.  It seems Google news has a paid subscription.  I read "Up & Down Wall Street" for a weekly 'finger-in-the-wind' on the US stock market.

I have a Yahoo homepage (my.yahoo.com) that tracks my portfolio and it's value. I'll hide the value (you can toggle this) and attach a screenshot.
