Title: ETF's in a 401k?
Post by: onecoolcat on January 31, 2016, 04:20:00 PM
Is there any reason to pass-up having an aggressive-growth ETF in a 401k?  The person asking plans to retire within 15 years.

I see no problem with it.

It should fit into the stock portion of an overall asset allocation plan.  15 years is a reasonable time span; if it tanks there is time to recover.  If it tanks 13 or 14 years from now, maybe not.  But by then, there ought to be some nice growth.
