I have recently moved to Portugal from South Africa, having spent a bit of time trying to find information on what is available I must admit I am a bit lost.
I still have some money in SA where investing in ETF's was dead easy (but I did not as I was moving).
I am considering moving the money to Portugal, but am having trouble figuring out who I should use and what is worth investing in.
In SA ETF's generally did very well, in Portugal they seem to have been on a downward trend for a while.
So question 1;
Who do you use to invest?
Question 2;
Can you invest in ETF's in other EU countries, if so what have you invested in?
Question 3;
I have money in SA earning 7.25%, which is simply unattainable in Portugal. BUT a slightly weaker Rand would wipe out a years interest value in an instant. Would you bring the money to the EU, or leave it in SA (where interest rates look to remain the same if not increase in the next year)
