Incentive stock options strike price on pre/post IPO wire
« on: June 24, 2018, 09:09:23 AM »
I just joined a private company and part of my on-boarding package was a number of incentive stock options. As usual, stock options are always approved at the 'next' quarterly board meeting post your hire date. Since joining, the company has filed to go public, which means I'm now in this limbo state with my options where they may approve them before or after they go public.

My question is about strike price. Does anything special happen to the strike price now that the company has filed S-1? Or (what I'm thinking is the case) do I simply have to cross my fingers that the IPO process drags a little and they approve my options pre-IPO vs post-IPO to get the best strike? I'm just unsure if there are any special implications to the strike price once a company files. Any help appreciated.
